Add a little spook!

Hello loves, welcome back to my blog!♡

I know.. I’ve been absent for a long time now, considering it’s been nearly 4 months since my last post, but now I’m back and I intend to keep it going!

It’s October ! It’s almost Halloween and that’s why I decided that for my little ‘come-back’ post, I wanted to share with you something about this season. You probably don’t know that, but I’m crazy about this time of the year. October is my favorite month (also my birth month – who would have guessed it ?!), and I love love LOVE Halloween. I know .. in Greece we don’t actually celebrate Halloween, but that’s not stopping me! I love spooky stuff and all the decorations and little treats. So that’s why every year, the night of Halloween, I plan a little party/ movie night with my friends.

Today, I’m gonna be sharing with you some of my (6+1) all-time fav classic movies for Halloween! Gather your friends, make some snacks and get ready to be spooked!

  1. Hocus Pocus (1993)

🎵 I put a spell on you, and now you’re mine.. 🎵 My Halloween movie night would not be complete if Hocus Pocus wasn’t on the list. Always my first choice, always my favorite one! It’s a Halloween classic, a comedy for all the family, and if you haven’t seen it already .. what planet are you from?! I tend to keep this one for last, after all the horror movies, just to soothe everyone’s nerves a little.

2. Halloween (1978)

…the night the Boogeyman came home… Of course John Carpenter’s Halloween has to be on the list! Still one of my favorite movies. I love old movies, I don’t mind the special effects and stuff, but if you do, you can always watch one of the sequel movies. I would probably recommend Rob Zombie’s Halloween movie (2007), very different from the original though, much more gore and violent, but hey it’s Zombie’s movie, what else could you possibly expect!

3. IT (1990)

With the new version out, this year’s Halloween it’s all about Pennywise, the horrifying dancing clown! I actually enjoyed watching the new film, but my heart will always lay with the original one. This year I’m also planning to read Stephen King’s book, since one of my best friends gave it to me as a birthday present and I’m sooo looking forward to it. Again, I don’t mind that the effects are not as good as in the new movie, but It still gets me everytime! Watch IT and you will float too…!

4. The shining (1980)

Now this year I was looking for a more psychological drama kinda horror movie but also with the twist of the supernatural and I thought the best choice would be of course Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining! This movie is a masterpiece, with it’s plot, characters and all, plus Jack Nicholson is one of the most talented actors (I believe). Always fun to be watching such a good horror movie and I think everyone will love it, if they don’t already.

5. Friday the 13th (1980)

October was a really exciting month this year, cause not only it’s Halloween month (as always) but this year Friday the 13th was also in October! How freaky was that ?! So I kinda had to put the well known movie on the list too, but I’m actually really obsessed with it. As you probably know by now, classic horror movies are my thing!

Quiz time; Do you remember who is the killer in this movie ?! (think twice !)

6. Frankenstein (1931)

Now I will take you a little more back in time, in 1931, when the first Frankenstein movie came out and Boris Karloff was ‘The Monster’. Again a classic horror movie that can’t be left out of a Halloween movie list.

and last but not least

7. The exorcist (1973)

For those who can handle it, The exorcist is always a good choice for a horror themed night. Sadly, I’m not going to watch this with my friends, cause they don’t enjoy movies with exorcisms, but I will probably watch it afterwards alone in my comfy bed. I remember watching this movie for the first time when I was around 14 if my memory serves me right, and I fell in love with it! (I know I was a weird kid !) Still I’m always looking for an excuse to watch it and finally the time has come!

I think that’s my complete list for this year’s Halloween movie night. I most certainly will enjoy it and hopefully you will too. If you liked this post, don’t forget to let me know in the comment section down below and give it a big thumbs-up!

With lots of love,

F.♡♡
